Silente Chair and Table
In collaboration with lapiegaWD
In the design practice of NOA, the creation of concepts that unfold on various scales is a common occurrence: from architecture to interior design, all the way to furnishings. This approach was also carried out in the restoration and expansion project of Monastero, whose acclaimed success prompted the studio to make the specifically designed products available to design lovers. Among these are the Silente Chair and Table, crafted in collaboration with lapiegaWD.
Creating a design concept across diverse scales is the ambitious challenge that the collective of architects and interior designers at NOA undertakes to give depth and coherence to each of its creations. To achieve this, the studio has committed to building a network of professionals capable of adding value to the project, collaborating over the years with artisans, manufacturers, and product designers. A tangible example of this modus operandi is the Monastero Arx Vivendi hotel in Arco, on Lake Garda. The intervention involved an abandoned monastery dating back to the 17th century: the monumental spaces of the cloister have been transformed into a hotel of utmost comfort without losing the subdued charm of the ancient nuns’ cells and the peaceful, meditative atmosphere of the garden where the new spa is located. For this project, NOA collaborated with two companies to design and manufacture three custom furnishings: a set of lamps, a table, and a chair. The resonance of the project and the enthusiasm of the guests were such that the studio decided to reproduce these design pieces, making them available for purchase.
the collection
One of the most fascinating spaces in the Monastero project is the inner garden, enclosed by an 8-meter-high wall, replacing the more common cloister and best embodying the meditative atmosphere of the former convent. Between the garden and the monastery's perimeter wall, a water channel with an old restored mill, a colonnade, and a covered terrace create a place where guests are invited to sit and have breakfast outdoors. The SILENTE chair and table are designed for this context and are the result of a collaboration between NOA and Enrico Girotti, founder of lapiegaWD. The table and chair come in the standard version of powder-coated steel and can be purchased at a starting price of €1,054 and €610, respectively. They are available for order here.
silente chair
Shaped from a single continuous metal wire that describes its entire figure without ever ending or interrupting. A graphic reinterpretation of the concept of infinity.
silente table
Crafted from a sequence of metal wires to achieve an austere design, in line with the place it inhabits. It is an outdoor table, with a rectangular or round top in metal or HPL, available in both 75 cm and 110 cm heights.
“For the outdoor furniture, we have opted for an essential design and monochromatic uniformity: tables and chairs in black metal create an interesting contrast with the lime-colored plaster of the wall in the background. The metal, winding like a wire around itself, the hallmark of the lapiegaWD brand, contributes to the clear shaping of forms and aesthetic rigor.”
